WELCOME TO BERLIN
Hot Times
The only predictable fact about
the Berlin summer is that it's highly
unpredictable. Temperatures can go
from 34 degrees Celsius to 15 from
one day to the next, which requires
a high level of creativity when it
comes to deciding what to wear in
the morning. The good thing is that
excessive heat usually doesn't last
for more than two or three days. The
bad thing is that sometimes, all the
remaining days of the month don't
really feel like summer.
Whatever the weather, Berlin offers
a very wide range of things to do,
from museums and cafés to take cover when it's sprinkling, to lakes and
swimming pools for getting refreshed. The best thing to do is to try and
stay outdoors as much as possible. This month, we've compiled a list of the
best cocktails, ice cream shops, and lakes to escape the heat, and we've
jumped right into the city's bike culture. And for the history lovers out
there: Check out our eight-page pullout guide on the Berlin Wall and learn
all there is to know about the infamous barrier that divided Berlin and
Berliners for 29 years.
Enjoy!
